What is going on in Lithuania? Why are the USA, NATO, Germany and Israel backing the ongoing destruction of Lithuanian Jewish heritage with their silence?
Inga Ruginienė is the present PM of Lithuania (since late summer). She replaced Gintautas Paluckas, who resigned due to growing financial scandals, days after anouncing the government's decision to reverse the previous government's decision and commitment not to develop a Conference Center on the old Jewish Shnipishok cemetery in Vilna. Confused? You should be.
The present PM's first decision was to kick the 'Union of Democrats 'for Lithuania'' party out of the coalition for demanding that the coalition exclude the Nemunas Dawn party of the rabid (since convicted) antisemite Remigijus Žemaitaitis. Instead, the coalition agreement includes a deal to allow the antisemite greater leeway to avoid prosecution. The PM hasn't uttered a word of condemnation of the vile antisemitic comments of convicted antisemite Zemaitaitis. She has not yet visited the Ponar memorial just outside Vilna, 2nd largest killing field in Europe after Babi Yar, where the vast majority of Vilna's 60,000 Jews (40% of Vilna's population) perished at the hands of Lithuanian gunners appointed by Nazi monsters. (Lithuania's national Holocaust Day was in September, and International Holocaust Day was last week).
Ahead of International Holocaust Day, the government passed a new 157 point 'RESOLUTION ON COMBATING ANTI-SEMITISM' which includes beautiful words about "fostering Jewish life in Lithuania," and tasks the same organizations responsible for the ongoing erasure of all Jewish heritage and tradition for both living and dead Jews, with carrying out the 'Resolution.' The de facto situation includes: Keeping 99% of Jewish sites unmarked, disallowing Jewish cemetery restoration or enclosures in major cities, allowing the total destruction of the legendary Vilna Shulhoyf, not supporting the local Jewish population or even allowing them a voice, and much more.
Yet the thing which made me scratch my head and raise my eyebrows (and any other Jew who isn't paid by the government), is the Prime Minister's choice of venue to mark Holocaust Victims Memorial Day - by paying respects at the Tuskulėnai Memorial in Vilna, final resting place of victims of the Soviet regime, INCLUDING DOZENS OF HOLOCAUST PERPETRATORS!!!!
Here, see for yourself if I am hallucinating:
