Here again is a first: LRT   (Lithuanian Radio and Television), a leading, quasi-governmental media, actually presented yesterday a somewhat balanced view by reporting that "the Soviet-era structure built in 1971 and located on the grounds of a former Jewish cemetery," that "redevelopment plans [for a] conference centre stalled amid objections from Jewish community groups, citing religious concerns over redevelopment of a historic burial ground where Jewish cemeteries existed since the 16th century" and that "Judaic law places strict limits on disturbing burial sites."

Our vital work to preserved and restore Jewish cemeteries in Lithuania continues unabated!
